Using the Hayne MLE Model: A Practitioners’ Guide, a new volume in the CAS Monograph Series, is now available for download. This monograph, written by Mark Shapland, illustrates the practical implementation of the Hayne MLE modeling framework as a powerful tool for estimating a distribution of unpaid claims.
Due to the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 variant Omicron, the CAS will move forward with the Ratemaking, Product and Modeling Seminar as a completely virtual event, held March 15-16, 2022.

The CAS Nominating Committee wants your input on the slate of candidates for the 2022 CAS elections for the Board of Directors and President-Elect. Any member may submit a nomination, and if you are a Fellow of the CAS, you are welcome to nominate yourself. Fellows may also submit a petition to be placed on the ballot.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide information on a variety of reinsurance topics. Practical approaches to problems will be presented and discussion will be encouraged. Participants can expect to gain awareness and insight into difficult issues and are encouraged to share their own ideas.

The CAS Board of Directors has adopted a revised policy on member attendance at Board meetings that offers members additional opportunities to gain insights into the workings of our Board than provided under the prior policy.
