Quebec Bill 96 includes language requirements for conducting business within Quebec, which requires all educational transactions to be completed in French. Currently, CAS exams and supporting materials are offered only in English, including within Canada.
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and Society of Actuaries (SOA) are working together to explore modifications to their jointly-sponsored Diversity Exam Reimbursement Program. A revised program is expected to be announced in 2024 as soon as the review can be completed; in the interim, the current program has been sunset. The Needs-Based Exam Reimbursement Program will remain available to actuarial candidates who demonstrate financial need.

The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) reached the 10,000 member milestone this year with its newest class of Fellows and Associates, with membership consisting of 6,676 Fellows, 3,340 Associates, and 33 Affiliate members, for a total of 10,049 active members.
The CAS Board’s Governance Task Force (GTF) has received recommendations from an independent consultant for enhancing our governance system to align with governance best practices for professional membership organizations. The recommendations focus on the overall governance structure, Board policies and procedures, and roles and responsibilities.
