For almost thirty years, The Actuarial Foundation has been changing the lives of students through its math tutoring, competition, and scholarship programs. As a former Trustee of the Foundation, I was inspired to serve and saw firsthand the difference that the Foundation’s programs are making. On May 11, there is a wonderful opportunity for the actuarial community to come together and celebrate the achievements of our Foundation.

In recognition of outstanding leadership and efforts within the insurance industry developing solutions for authenticity, inclusion and diversity, the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) has been honored with the 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Industry Champion of the Year award from Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS). GIS is the industry’s premier collegiate talent pipeline, serving over 5,000 students and 25,000 alumni from a growing network of over 100 colleges and universities throughout North America.

In our ongoing effort to promote inclusion and diversity, the CAS Board voted unanimously to add an optional profile question to the CAS Member Dashboard and to amend another.
The International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA) has selected Dr. Tiffany Holmes to become its new Executive Director of the nonprofit professional and student member organization, whose mission is to increase the number of successful Black actuaries through programs and partnerships that address their underrepresentation in the profession.
