About Our Speaker:

Jessica LeongJessica Leong is the CEO and founder of Octagram, an analytics consulting firm focused on making pricing a competitive advantage for our clients.

Before starting Octagram, Leong was the head of data and analytics at Zurich North America, leading a team who built all of Zurich’s predictive pricing, claims and operational models. During her time at Zurich, Jessica saw that simply building models was not enough to generate value at scale. Solving the right problems, getting buy-in and collaborating on how to deploy the insights were equally as important. Jessica made it her mission to deliver measurable impact and was successful in working with underwriters, claims professionals, risk engineers and other colleagues to reduce loss ratios, reduce expenses and grow premium.

Jessica was honored to be the President of the Casualty Actuarial Society from 2020-2021. During this time, the Board worked to deliver a 3 year strategic plan, and a vision of The Actuary of the Future, and Jessica is proud to have been part of this effort to steer the profession forward.

Before joining Zurich North America, Jessica was a Senior Vice President at Guy Carpenter and a consultant at Milliman and Willis Towers Watson.  Jessica was born in Malaysia, grew up in Australia, and has worked in the U.K. and the U.S. She lives with her husband and two boys in Chicago.
