The CAS is pleased to announce the publication of the new Content Outlines (formerly referred to as Syllabi) for Exams 6-United States, 6-Canada, 6-International, and 8 as outlined in the Admissions Transformation Plan (ATP).
The CAS Publications Council invites professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts in the field of actuarial science to contribute essays on the profound impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the actuarial profession, insurance industry, and the broader ecosystem.
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and Society of Actuaries (SOA) are working together to explore modifications to their jointly-sponsored Diversity Exam Reimbursement Program. A revised program is expected to be announced in 2024 as soon as the review can be completed; in the interim, the current program has been sunset. The Needs-Based Exam Reimbursement Program will remain available to actuarial candidates who demonstrate financial need.
The CAS and the CAS Ratemaking Working Group have released two new requests for proposals on emerging ratemaking topics: scaling laws in pure premium models and severe convective storm event exposures. The detailed topics are as follows:
The CAS Ratemaking Working Group is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking research related to methods and techniques that incorporate exposures related to severe convective storm in the ratemaking process.
The CAS Ratemaking Working Group is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking research related to the development of scaling laws in pure premium models for use in the ratemaking process.
The Spring Meeting Working Group (SMWG) is extending the Call for Presentations for the 2024 Spring Meeting to enlist workshop proposals. Speakers are expected to travel in-person to the meeting to present. Workshops will take place on Sunday, May 5.
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) has received five awards across four association award programs for exemplary work completed in 2022. The four award programs include the EXCEL Awards, TRENDY Awards, ASAE Power of Associations Awards and Communicator Awards.
