The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) invites you to be a part of the upcoming Second Annual China Insurance Summit taking place in Beijing on November 17, 2023. This will be a hybrid event, attracting actuaries, academics, and general insurance professionals from all over China, Hong Kong, and beyond. We welcome your proposals for engaging presentations on matters currently impacting the general insurance market. In-person presentations are preferred, but virtual sessions may also be considered. Sessions may be conducted in Mandarin or English.
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) reached the 10,000 member milestone this year with its newest class of Fellows and Associates, with membership consisting of 6,676 Fellows, 3,340 Associates, and 33 Affiliate members, for a total of 10,049 active members.
The 2023 CAS election ballot is now available to be completed online.
As part of its roll out of the Capability Model, the CAS has unveiled two new instructional videos showing how actuaries may use the Model to expand their abilities into new areas of their work.
The CAS Board’s Governance Task Force (GTF) has received recommendations from an independent consultant for enhancing our governance system to align with governance best practices for professional membership organizations. The recommendations focus on the overall governance structure, Board policies and procedures, and roles and responsibilities.
The CAS Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the President-Elect and Board candidates for the 2023 CAS elections. Voting members (Associates who have been members at least five years and Fellows) will cast ballots in August to elect four directors from among the eight candidates.
Exam syllabi for CAS October/November 2023 Exams 6-Canada, 6-International, 6-United States, and 8 and Content Outlines for CAS October/November 2023 Exams MAS-I, MAS-II, and 5 are now available on the Exams & Admissions section of the CAS website. October/November registration will open in mid-July.
