In accordance with the Admissions Transformation Plan (ATP), the CAS anticipates publishing new Content Outlines (formerly Syllabi) later this month for the October/November 2023 Exams MAS-I, MAS-II, and 5. The following information will provide our stakeholders, primarily candidates and academics, with details on the similarities and differences between our former Syllabi and new Content Outlines.  
As previously announced, the Admissions Transformation Plan (ATP) incorporated a Job Task Analysis (JTA) in 2020 to inform enhancements to all CAS exams, beginning with the new Exams MAS-I, MAS-II and 5. The JTA resulted in recommendations for the high-level domains and tasks covered on each exam in the ACAS and FCAS exam pathway.
The Casualty Actuarial Society is excited to announce that applications are officially being accepted for its scholarship program for college students pursuing a career in actuarial science! The CAS Trust Scholarship Program, funded by donations to the CAS Trust, will award scholarships in the amount of $5,000 and $2,500 to deserving students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Spring Meeting Working Group (SMWG) issues the Call for Presentations for the 2023 Spring Meeting. Speakers are expected to travel in-person to the meeting to present.
Roosevelt C. Mosley Jr., FCAS, CSPA, a longtime CAS volunteer and well-established industry professional, began his term as the president of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) today in conjunction with the 2022 CAS Annual Meeting.
The Casualty Actuarial Society yesterday announced the winners of the first-ever CAS Hacktuary Challenge, a contest designed to showcase the actuarial skill set in developing novel risk engineering solutions. Entrants were challenged to create an end-user application that would be actuarially grounded but address a risk management problem of relevance to a typical consumer. The challenge also required that all code for the application be made publicly available on the CAS’s GitHub site.

Share your love of the profession by inspiring the next generation of actuaries. Volunteers are needed to share their stories about why they became an actuary and help high school students learn about the profession during this free, fun, and interactive half-day event!
