Asia Student Summer Program

The CAS is now accepting applications for the Asia Student Summer Program, a five-week virtual academic summer enrichment program that gives students a head start on a successful career path by strengthening their understanding of key concepts in actuarial science used in the general insurance, risk management, and finance industries.

Founded over 100 years ago, the Casualty Actuarial Society is a global leader in general insurance, with a growing membership of actuaries working in over 50 countries around the world. Our members are experts in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance, finance, risk management, and enterprise risk management. Professionals educated by the CAS empower business and government to solve problems and make well-informed strategic, financial, and operational decisions. The CAS is an active member of the International Actuarial Association.

Course Fee

Students attending universities in the CAS University Recognition Program list will receive a course fee waiver. Students from other universities will be charged a fee of USD25.00 upon acceptance.

Course Format

Students will complete weekly educational modules, join weekly discussions with professional actuaries, and participate in a case competition team to solve a real-life actuarial problem.

Course duration

5 July - 9 August 2026 with weekly lectures on Mondays 20:00 and tutorials on Thursdays 20:00 (GMT+8)

Completion awards

Students who meet all program completion requirements will each be awarded a completion certificate and a FREE CAS exam coupon.

 

Who Should Apply?

Current university students who are:

  • Available 5 July through 9 August 2026, to participate in the virtual real-time learning, discussions, and projects.
  • Attending university in APAC.
  • Majoring in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Interested in potentially pursuing a career in actuarial science in the general insurance, risk management, or finance industries.

 

Application Instructions
  • Only complete applications received in our online system by the deadline will be considered.
  • As part of the application process, students are required to attach a copy of their most recent unofficial university transcript and provide an English language translation if needed.
  • The CAS Asia Summer Program has limited capacity and those applicants not selected will be invited to try out the on-demand P&C Actuarial Essentials Program.
