THIS WEBINAR IS COMPLIMENTARY TO NON-NORTH AMERICAN AUDIENCES IN THE CAS.

This webinar will discuss how the internal and third-party models are used to estimate the potential loss resulting from various pandemic events. The following two models to be presented are:

  • Third-party (RMS) Pandemic simulation model is used for assessing the Pandemic risk for group life, disability and worker’s comp, informing the probable maximum losses used to assess capital needs and risk management.
  • Internal deterministic models are used to quantify the impact of COVD-19 and create stress tests to better understand tail risk.

The speakers will discuss model spread of the infection through the population based on the Susceptible, Infected, Recovered (SIR) epidemiological modeling framework and Probabilistic model of infectious disease risk parameterized using the SIR model.
