Asian members and candidates make up a large portion of actuaries in the CAS, but data shows that there are still barriers to advancement and success facing this group. In this session we will uncover the diverse challenges impacting Asian actuaries working in Western countries. Panelists will discuss their personal experiences, share strategies for Asian actuaries to achieve success, and provide tips for allies to help foster an inclusive workplace.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify common unconscious biases impacting Asian colleagues
  • Develop strategies to remove barriers to advancement for Asian actuaries working in Europe and North America
