The CAS continues to make meaningful progress toward the vision outlined in its Strategic Plan, while adapting to a rapidly evolving profession. In this opening session, Kathy Odomirok and Victor Carter-Bey will provide an update on the Society's strategic direction, highlight recent accomplishments, and discuss the priorities that will shape the coming year. Attendees will gain insight into how the Board, Executive Council, staff, and volunteers are working together to advance the CAS mission, strengthen member engagement, and position the organization for continued success. The session will welcome an open discussion, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage directly with CAS leadership on the issues that matter most.

Strategic Snapshots: Priorities from Across the CAS, CAS Vice Presidents and Staff Chiefs

The Leadership Summit provides a unique opportunity for CAS volunteer and staff leaders to align around shared priorities for the year ahead. Following their functional area meetings on the previous day, CAS Vice Presidents and their staff Chief counterparts will provide a brief "strategic snapshot" that highlights key themes, opportunities, and priorities that emerged from their discussions. This fast-paced session will give attendees a broad view of the work happening across the organization while identifying opportunities for collaboration across councils, working groups, and staff teams. Throughout the session, participants will be encouraged to ask questions and explore connections that can help strengthen alignment and advance the CAS's strategic objectives.

High-performing teams don't happen by chance – they’re built through trust, meaningful relationships, and intentional collaboration. In this interactive session, participants will explore the behaviors that distinguish exceptional teams from ineffective ones through guided reflection, table discussions, and hands-on activities. Together, attendees will identify practical strategies for strengthening communication, fostering inclusion, and building stronger connections across diverse roles and perspectives. Whether leading a CAS volunteer group or collaborating in the workplace, participants will leave with actionable tools they can immediately apply to create more engaged, effective, and successful teams.

Shaping the CAS AI Strategy: From Vision to Action

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the actuarial profession, creating new opportunities and new expectations for the CAS. This interactive session will engage volunteer and staff leaders in shaping how the CAS responds to the evolving AI landscape, building on the Board of Directors' strategic discussions at its annual August retreat. Participants will hear the Board's emerging perspectives on the CAS’s role in AI across areas like credentialing and continuing education, then work together to explore priorities, identify opportunities, and discuss how leaders throughout the organization can help advance this vision. By combining strategic direction with broad leadership input, this session will help build a shared understanding of the CAS's AI priorities and strengthen alignment as the organization moves from strategy to implementation.
