November/December Issue of Actuarial Review Now Available

Artificial intelligence is changing how actuaries work, climate-related losses are challenging traditional risk models, and a growing wave of silica lawsuits is raising questions about the next major liability crisis. The November/December 2026 issue of Actuarial Review takes on these developments and more, offering timely insights into the risks and opportunities shaping the P&C insurance industry.

The cover story, “Within Reach: Building a Workable AI Teammate,” explores what it takes to move AI beyond a productivity tool and into a reliable collaborator in actuarial work. Other features address the evolving science of catastrophe modeling, the increasing significance of secondary climate perils, and the critical role of professionalism education in actuarial decision-making.

From the promise of agentic AI in reserving to new research challenging conventional thinking on social inflation, the issue highlights how actuarial practices and industry assumptions are evolving. Readers will also learn how insurers are responding to emerging AI liability exposures, how El Niño is disrupting global commerce, and what the rise of prediction markets could mean for forecasting risk.

Rounding out the issue are perspectives on actuarial thinking beyond the workplace, lessons from insurance history, CAS activities around the world, and recognition of the volunteers and future actuaries advancing the profession.
