NAIC Requests Comments on Updated “Qualified Actuary” Definitions in Annual Statement Instructions

The Actuarial Opinion Working Group (AOWG) of the NAIC is exposing updated definitions of “Accepted Actuarial Designations” for “Qualified Actuaries” contained in the NAIC Annual Statement Instructions. The Annual Statement instructions set out the actuarial designations that meet or exceed the NAIC’s Minimum Property/Casualty (P/C) Actuarial Educational Standards for a P/C Appointed Actuary. These updated definitions reflect recent changes to both the SOA and CAS credentials.
