CAS Seeks Volunteers to Write Spring 2027 Exam Items

The CAS Admissions Department is currently looking for Item Writers this summer/fall to write for the Spring 2027 Exams.

Item Writers are needed for the following exams:

  • Exam MAS-I (Modern Actuarial Statistics I)
  • Exam MAS-II (Modern Actuarial Statistics II)
  • PCPA (Property & Casualty Predictive Analytics)
  • Exam 6C (Regulation and Financial Reporting Canada)
  • Exam 7 (Advanced Estimation of Claims Liabilities)
  • Exam 8 (Advanced Ratemaking)
  • Exam 9 (Risk Management for Actuaries)

An Item Writer is an FCAS who has passed the exam and is expected to have a strong understanding of topics for the exam. Each volunteer is given a partner, and training is provided.

Item writing will take place mid-August through late September, and all volunteers are invited to attend the summit at the Hilton Orlando, Orlando, FL September 16-18. Virtual participation is an option as well.
