- CAS members reside in 51 countries around the world. 80% of members reside in the United States and 13% in Canada. The number of members in Malaysia has grown, moving it into the five largest countries for CAS members in 2025.
- Members ages 34 and under increased to 29%, from 28% in 2024, while members ages 45 to 64 decreased to 30%, from 32% in 2024.
- Women make up 33% of worldwide CAS members, up from 32% in 2024, and 38% of exam candidates.
- In 2025 a greater proportion of CAS members and candidates (3% and 4%, respectively) identified with multiple race/ethnicity groups. In the infographic, these individuals are counted within all groups with which they identified. This is a change in methodology from the 2024 infographic; thus, the figures for Race/Ethnicity may not be comparable.
As described in the Career Encouragement and Community Building Strategy adopted in 2025, the CAS works to increase awareness of the actuarial profession, attract and retain candidates from all talent pools, and foster a strong sense of community and inclusion. Understanding the various demographics of our membership supports this effort by helping us tailor outreach and engagement tactics.
