The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and the Actuarial Institute of Chinese Taipei (AICT) invite you to be a part of the 2023 Joint Property/Casualty Actuarial Seminar scheduled for September 8, 2023, in Taipei. Don’t miss out this opportunity to speak to actuarial practitioners in Taiwan and the greater Asia region.
Topics of Interest
The Seminar Planning Task Force would like to invite submission of papers on the below topics.
- Pet Insurance Pricing
Pet insurance grows rapidly in recent years in Taiwan though the loss experience also shows an evident increasing trend. The difficulty of pricing pet insurance comprises of lacking unified system of vet medical record, chaotic medical expenses standard among each clinic and so forth. How to deal with those intractable issues becomes a conundrum for pricing pet insurance.
- EV Pricing
Due to the strict regulation in Taiwan, the rating variables as well as the rating algorithm which are used for EV insurance products are designated by DOI. Since the inflexible rule will influence the accuracy of pricing and may further cause the adverse selection, DOI is planning to relax it in the near future. Learning which rating variables are critical to price EV insurance in advance can help insurance company to prepare for the change.
- Speakers in the past have presented in English, Mandarin, and a combined format (e.g., slides in one language, oral comments in the other).
- Lengths of these sessions are typically 45-50 minutes including Q&A.
- Speakers are encouraged to have their employer’s support on the travel cost. The seminar registration fee will be waived for speakers, and we invite you to participate in the entire seminar.
Please submit your proposed session title, session description, speaker(s), presentation language(s), and other requested to email@example.com no later than May 20, 2023.
