The Asia Region Casualty Actuaries (ARECA) Announces New Leadership

The Asia Region Casualty Actuaries (ARECA), the Casualty Actuarial Society's Regional Affiliate in Asia, is pleased to announce its new leadership for 2020. Judy Ng, FCAS, Director at KPMG Singapore, will succeed Guanjun Jiang, FCAS, as the new President of ARECA. Jin Wang, FCAS, Chief Actuary of Zurich General Insurance Company (China) Limited in Shanghai, will become ARECA's President-Elect.

New ARECA President Judy Ng said: "I am very grateful to have this opportunity to be part of this ARECA journey. The CAS is an established organization with over 100 years of history while ARECA is in the midst of establishing itself as a platform in this region to better serve our CAS members and to promote the P&C actuarial profession by leveraging our well established CAS network. This new leadership team has a strong passion to continue building a stronger ARECA through a number of initiatives with support from our CAS members, the CAS leadership and CAS staffs in the region. I am excited to lead the ARECA through this journey in the coming year, and continue to work with you and seek improvement to better serve and support you in the future as one CAS.”.

Other updates include:

Richard Zhu, FCAS, Senior Manager at China Property & Casualty Reinsurance Company, will continue to serve as the Vice President for China.

Jeremy Lian, FCAS, Senior Vice President at MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd, will serve as the new Vice President for South East Asia.

Yisi Lu, FCAS, Senior Manager at AXA Asia, will serve as the new Treasurer.

ARECA joins 17 other CAS Regional Affiliates throughout the world as a high-quality provider of continuing education for CAS members, candidates, students and other stakeholders in the region. The Regional Affiliate will hold a number of educational events throughout the year, including one-day seminars in China or South East Asia.
