The Actuarial Foundation Presents Shapiro’s Heroes

CAS members are invited to The Actuarial Foundation’s inaugural “Shapiro’s Heroes” celebration, October 5, 2023, in Rosemont at the Loews Chicago Hotel. The event supports the Robert Shapiro Memorial Scholarship –  a scholarship dedicated exclusively to those pursuing careers as actuaries. Tickets are $250 each.

In 2021 Bob passed away after a 50+ year career as an actuary.  He was one of the founders of The Actuarial Foundation and was involved in several volunteer efforts in the actuarial field.  Prior to Bob’s passing, friends developed a scholarship fund at The Actuarial Foundation to honor and support his passion for actuarial science. This year the fund awarded four scholarships of $12,500 each to juniors/seniors pursuing a career in actuarial science.

To continue this scholarship program, CAS members are invited to The Actuarial Foundation’s inaugural “Shapiro’s Heroes” celebration, October 5, 2023, in Chicago.

In addition to the evening reception and dinner, an afternoon session from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. will explore how "AI Innovations" will change the business of insurance and how actuaries can use that change to their advantage. Speakers include CAS President Roosevelt Mosley.

See the “Shapiro’s Heroes” webpage to learn more and purchase your ticket.
