The Casualty Actuarial Society and joint sponsor, American Academy of Actuaries, invite you to be a part of an exciting seminar for fall 2024. The Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar Working Group is soliciting your submission of proposals for presentations at the upcoming event scheduled for September 9-11, 2024, in San Francisco, CA. Speakers are expected to travel in-person to the meeting to present.

General sessions will be 75-minutes long. Concurrent sessions will be 60-minutes long. Roundtables will be 50-minutes long. We will also be seeking half-day and full-day Workshops for Monday, September 9.

The 2024 proposal reviewers will pay particular attention the following criteria:

  • Content is informative and relevant, with clear and immediate application to the work of audience participants.
  • Strong proposals will focus tightly on specific content rather than including every aspect of the topic. They will also include opportunities for learner engagement.

We appreciate your willingness to contribute to the actuarial body of knowledge.

Please note that we are accepting sessions for the following tracks:

  • Advanced Reserving
  • Financial Reporting
  • General Sessions
  • Healthcare/WC/MedProf
  • InsurTech/AI
  • Line of Business
  • Professional Development
  • Risk Management
  • Roundtables
  • Special Topics
  • Workshops (Monday, Sept 9)

Submissions that include “Bias” may be submitted under any of the above tracks.

Please note that we will ask speakers to be present at the event. For submissions with multiple speakers, preference will be given to presentations with speakers from multiple companies.

For ease in submission, develop your proposal content first in MS Word or other word-processing software and then copy/paste it into the appropriate submission form fields. For explanations about any of the requested items, refer back to the full Call for Presentations Guidelines and Guidelines for Proposal Writers.
