The Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) of the American Academy of Actuaries adopted a revision of Actuarial Standard of Practice (ASOP) No. 20, now titled Discounting of Property/Casualty Claim Estimates. The standard applies to actuaries when performing actuarial services that involve the discounting of claim estimates for property/casualty coverages to a present value.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of individual merit. The MAF Scholarship Program will award up to two scholarships to deserving students for the 2023-2024 academic year. Both will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The CAS Research Council is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to assess ways in which telematics and usage-based insurance technologies/data can either increase or decrease the potential for racial bias within insurance rating.
