The insurance industry in China continued to its transformations duiring the past few years. China’s updated solvency regulatory regime, C-ROSS Phase II, took effect on January 2022 after four years of construction. The new solvency regime set up a clear tone from the top regarding P&C insurers’ core business focus and investment governance. Meanwhile, China’s motor insurance market also completed its latest round of reform in 2021, introducing more competitive rates as well as dedicated policies for new energy vehicles. What are the main changes of these rules and how will they have impacts on the industry? This session will explain those matters.

Mr. Xiaoxuan (Sherwin) Li is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Fellow of China Association of Actuaries (FCAA), a Cert Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK (Cert CII), a RMS Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA), a AIR Certified Extreme Event Modeler (CEEM), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer(MCSE). He is currently the Chief Actuary of China Re P&C, responsible for all the actuarial and analytical works in the company, including capital/solvency modelling. He has nearly twenty years’ experience in insurance industry and ever worked in London, UK for less than a year.

Delvin Cai, PwC China
Delvin is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Director in PwC’s Actuarial Services practice with 15+ years of experience in actuarial consulting in the United States and China. He has provided strategic, operational and organizational advices to a number of insurance clients. He also led several deal advisory projects for Chinese clients around post-deal integration planning, governance structure design, change management. Delvin graduated from Macalester College, US, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics.
