The webinar starts with a fun and informative walk through weather, climate, and climate change, drawing on geology, NASA satellite shots, NOAA records of hurricanes, and more. Different perspectives and areas of controversy will be noted without advocating any particular side. Then the webinar will move on to make the audience aware of key international and regulatory efforts addressing climate change, in particular looking at the AR-6 report, NetZero alliances, and EIOPA Scope Reporting of CO2 emissions. Then the webinar will hone in on the insurance industry, climate change reporting requirements, and work done by actuarial societies. The webinar will then examine how climate change might impact actuarial practice for example discussing whether rating procedures should be modified to reflect future climate change. Of course there will be a quiz or two and time for audience questions!
