Barriers To Entry Study

Keys to Unlocking Diversity in the Actuarial Profession
Through research, co-commissioned by the Casualty Actuarial Society, Society of Actuaries, International Association of Black Actuaries and The Actuarial Foundation and developed by C+R Research, we have identified barriers to entry into the actuarial profession for underrepresented minorities. These barriers fall into five stages - awareness, consideration, preference, intent and employment - and form the basis for many of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion activities underway in the CAS. We encourage our community to review the resources below and join us in unlocking the door to a more diverse actuarial profession.
