New Content Outlines Available for MAS-I, MAS-II and Exam 5

The CAS is pleased to announce the publication of the new Content Outlines (formerly referred to as Syllabi) for Exams MAS-I, MAS-II, and 5, as outlined in the Admissions Transformation Plan (ATP). The new content outlines enable candidates to begin their preparations for the new exams, which are anticipated to launch in October/November of 2023. Candidates preparing for the May 2023 sitting of MAS-I, MAS-II and 5 should refer to the current May 2023 Syllabi.

"The new Content Outlines are another exciting step towards evolving our basic education program so that CAS credentials remain the gold standard for property-casualty actuaries,” said Roosevelt Mosley, CAS President. “I'm proud of the dedication of our Admissions volunteers and staff to ensuring we are on track to achieve our ATP milestones as we transform how we prepare our members for the future,” he added.

While the work on the ATP will continue in the coming years, the launch of the new Content Outlines is the final milestone for 2022. Visit the dedicated ATP webpage for a timeline of what to expect in the coming years.

Please note, the new Content Outlines will live on the exam landing pages, which can be accessed through the Exams & Admissions navigation drop down menu on the CAS website. For background information about the new Content Outlines, please refer to the following prior announcements:
