The panel discussion is intended to focus on the following areas around the IFRS 17 implementation:
    • Concerns and challenges during the transition period
    • Interactions between actuarial system and sub-ledger system
    • Risk adjustment and allocation

Speakers with implementation experiences, from organizations that are nearly ready for IFRS 17 are strongly encouraged to join the discussion. Speakers in this panel discussion will need to present in Mandarin.

Lengths of these sessions are typically 45-50 minutes including Q&A. The IFRS-17 Panel will be a much longer session.

The organizing team is particularly interested in the speaker sharing real-world, first-hand experiences. The most relevant lines of insurance are non-life (also known as property/casualty or general insurance) and health insurance.

The seminar audience is anticipated to include primarily actuaries from Taiwan and the greater Asia region, typically practitioners with 10 to 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.

The Task Force is issuing this call to solicit ideas for professional content and to identify outstanding speakers for the 2022 event. The Task Force wants your ideas and proposals for sessions that will deliver valuable content and will be engaging to attendees.

The Task Force has the final authority to select session topics, presentations and speakers that best meet the educational and professional objectives of the seminar; and to collaborate with a potential speaker to adjust the content of a session to meet those needs. Also, we recommend that proposed panelists in a specific session be from a minimum of two different employers.

Mandarin and English are both acceptable for your presentation. But for the IFRS 17 panel discussion, Mandarin speaking is necessary. Please indicate the language(s) that you plan to utilize for your spoken remarks and any slides.

Speakers are encouraged to have their employer’s support on the travel cost. The seminar registration fee will be waived for speakers, and we invite you to participate in the entire seminar. If you do not know if you can travel, there will be options to present to this audience long distance.

Please submit your proposed session title, session description, speaker(s), presentation language(s), and other requested information using the online submission process no later than May 20, 2022, by clicking the link below.
