Call for Presentations 2024 CAS Spring Meeting

The Spring Meeting Working Group (SMWG) is extending the Call for Presentations for the 2024 Spring Meeting to enlist workshop proposals. Speakers are expected to travel in-person to the meeting to present. Workshops will take place on Sunday, May 5.

We are looking for 4 hour or 6-7 hour workshops in the following key areas:

1. Actuarial Toolkit (R, Python, Data Manipulation, Data Visualization)
2. Introduction to Ratemaking, Reserving, or Reinsurance
3. Communication Skills
4. Guidance on new ASOPs are requiring actuaries to consider the validity of a client’s chosen discount rate
5. Bias testing implementation
6. Climate change disclosures reporting practices
7. Teaching recent exam material changes to bring senior actuaries up to speed
