Casualty Actuarial Society Announces 2020 Volunteer Award Winners

August 24, 2020 Arlington VA - The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is pleased to announce the winners for the 2020 Volunteer Awards.

The New Members Award is given annually to one or more members of the CAS who have made significant volunteer contributions within five years of their most recent credential.

The 2020 New Members Award is awarded to Scott Keim (FCAS 2016) for his work on the Syllabus and Exam Committee, Alisa Walch (FCAS 2015) for her work on the University Engagement Committee and CAS Student Central Summer Program, and Kiki Wang (ACAS 2018) for her work on the RPM Seminar Planning Committee.

The Above & Beyond Achievement Award is given annually to one or more members of the CAS who have made a recent contribution which is conspicuously above and beyond what is reasonably expected.

The 2020 Above and Beyond Award is awarded to six CAS Fellows: Anthony Bustillo for his work on the Microlearning Task force and the In-Focus Seminar Planning Committee, Erin Olson for her work on the University Engagement Committee and leading the CAS Student Central Summer Program, Pam Sealand Reale for her work on the RPM Seminar Planning Committee, Brent Rossman for his work on the Leadership Development Committee, Jason Russ for his work with the Syllabus and Examination Committee, and Jim Weiss for his work on the RPM Seminar Planning Committee.

The Matthew Rodermund Memorial Service Award recognizes CAS members who have made significant volunteer contributions to the actuarial profession over the course of their career. The award was established in 1990 in honor of Matt Rodermund's years of volunteer service to the Casualty Actuarial Society.

The 2020 Matthew Rodermund Memorial Award is awarded to three CAS Fellows: John Buchanan for over 30 years of volunteerism, Ann Conway for over 30 years of volunteerism, and Ron Kozlowski for over 25 years of volunteerism.

This year’s honorees represent a diverse set of individuals spanning various committees from the CAS’s pool of over 2,800 volunteers.

All volunteer award winners will be recognized at the 2020 CAS Virtual Annual Meeting in November. Additionally, the CAS will feature the award winners in an article in an upcoming edition of the Actuarial Review.
