Data Compilations - Commercial Lines
Whether you are looking to supplement your internal data for ratemaking or studying loss data for potential new markets, ISO Commercial Lines Data Compilations can provide you with invaluable detailed reports on premiums, exposures, losses and claims.
All reports reflect the same experience ISO uses to perform loss cost reviews. Your company's actuarial, underwriting, and marketing professionals can use these reports to:
- Conduct market research in a particular state or market
- Analyze and compare the company's premium and loss experience with that of the aggregate for ISO-reporting companies
- Examine average claim frequency, claim severity, and pure premium information
ISO offers experience compilations for the following lines of business:
- Commercial auto (Liability/No-Fault and Physical Damage)
- General liability (Premises/Operations and Products Liability)
- Commercial fire and allied lines
- Commercial inland marine
Experience compilations show earned exposures, written premium (if applicable), earned premium, earned premium at current level or aggregate loss costs at current level (whichever is applicable), and basic/excess limit or total limit incurred losses and claims reflecting loss development factors and allocated and unallocated loss adjustment expense. Experience compilations display five years of data. Reports are summarized in readily understandable formats that display information in the following levels of detail:
- Commercial auto: Major class, state, coverage, territory, and class group or class(where appropriate)
- General liability: Subline, type of policy, state, territory, class group, and class
- Commercial fire and allied lines: Subline, type of policy, rating group, state, and territory
- Inland marine: Classification detail
ISO will supply these compilations on these machine-readable formats:
diskette, magnetic tape, 3480 tape cartridge, or CD-ROM (currently
for GL Experience Compilation only).
Loss Development Reports
ISO will produce customized Loss Development Reports from its
extensive database to fit your specific needs. Reports, which
are available for general liability and commercial auto liability,
can reflect your own company experience or the aggregate for ISO-reporting
companies to help you:
- Analyze and compare your own loss development patterns with the ISO-reporting company aggregate
- Analyze loss reserves
- Examine the amount of allocated loss adjustment expense (ALAE) included in the total losses
General Liability Reports display "triangles"
for losses, claims, or occurrences for either claims-made or occurrence
programs. Any combination of the following levels of detail and
report options are available:
- Subline: Individual sublines or several combined
- Type of Policy: Monoline, multiline, or combined
- State: All combined, individually, or in groups you define
- Class: All combined, individually, or in groups you define
- BI/PD/Other: Individual or combined
- Loss Options: Accident or policy year; basic (can be customer-defined), excess, or total limits; paid or incurred basis; indemnity only, ALAE only, or indemnity and ALAE combined (all ALAE amounts are considered basic limits)
Commercial Auto Liability Reports display "triangles"
for losses, claims, or occurrences on an accident-year basis for
commercial cars or private passenger types, or on a policy-year
basis for garage classes. Both bodily injury and property damage
reports are included. Any combination of the following levels
of detail and report options are available:
- Major Class; Private passenger types, commercial cars, and garages
- State: All combined, individually, or in groups you define
- Territory: Individual or combined
- Loss Options: Basic (can be customer-defined), excess, or total limits; paid or incurred basis; indemnity only, ALAE, or indemnity and ALAE combined (all ALAE amounts are considered basic limits)
Loss Development Reports for both commercial auto and general
liability are available on paper, diskette, magnetic tape, and
3480 tape cartridge.
Data Compilations - Personal Lines
ISO Personal Lines Data Compilations provide detailed reports on premiums, exposures, losses, and claims you can use to supplement your internal data for ratemaking or in support of your underwriting decisions.
All report reflect the same experience we use to perform loss cost reviews. Actuarial, underwriting and marketing professionals can use these reports to:
- Conduct market research in a particular state or market
- Analyze and compare your company's premium and loss experience with the aggregate for ISO-reporting companies
- Examine information on average claim frequency and severity and pure premium
The following reports are available:
- Personal property (Homeowners and Dwelling Fire & Allied Lines, separately)
- Amount of Insurance
- Cause of Loss
- Experience Compilation
- Construction/Protection
- Personal Inland Marine Experience Report
- Personal auto
- Liability/No-Fault Experience Compilation
- Physical damage Experience Compilation
- Physical Damage Cause of Loss
Personal Property Compilations show earned exposures, written
premium, earned premium and/or earned premium at current level
or aggregate loss costs at current level (whichever is applicable),
and incurred losses and claims reflecting loss development. Compilations
display five calendar/accident years of data. Available for homeowners
and dwelling fire and allied lines (sold separately), the reports
are compiled in various combinations of subline, state, territory,
and classification detail (e.g., policy form, amount of insurance).
Personal Auto Compilations display earned exposures, earned
premium, earned premium at current level or aggregate loss costs
at current level (whichever is applicable), basic and excess limit
incurred losses reflecting loss development and all loss adjustment
expense, and incurred claims. (For physical damage, compilations
show paid losses reflecting all loss adjustment expense and a
paid-to-incurred factor.) Compilations include three years of
data --calendar/accident or fiscal/accident for liability and
calendar or fiscal year for physical damage (varying by state).
Available separately for liability and physical damage, the reports
are compiled in state, coverage, territory, and class group detail.
ISO produces these compilations on diskette, magnetic tape, and
3480 tape cartridge.
