As organizations grow and evolve, so must their leadership. The CAS Leadership Development Committee (LDC), consisting of more than 25 members, aims to provide various avenues of training, support, and mentorship opportunities to help volunteers develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be a CAS leader. 2023 has already seen the introduction of our new book club, which you can read about in this newsletter, and we are relaunching our mentoring program and developing new leadership courses. Look for future editions of this newsletter to highlight other exciting opportunities that can help you on your own leadership journey.

I'm excited to have started my tenure as the chair of the LDC and continue the work that Jim Merz oversaw in his tenure as chair of the LDC. Together with our CAS Staff partners, Minesh Patel, the LDC Vice Chair, and I hope to educate our CAS members about the committee and ensure they are aware of the leadership resources available to support them along their leadership development journey.

If you are interested in being considered for a volunteer leadership opportunity within the CAS, or would like to learn more about the LDC’s resources or contribute to our programs, please complete this questionnaire recently circulated to all CAS volunteers.
