Casualty Actuarial Society Names Roosevelt Mosley President-Elect
Arlington, Va. – September 16, 2021 – The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) has announced the results of its elections, with Roosevelt Mosley, FCAS, CSPA, being named president-elect for 2021-2022. Mosley will begin his term at the close of the 2021 CAS Annual Meeting in November and will go on to serve as CAS president for 2022-2023.
Mosley is currently principal and consulting actuary at Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. in Bloomington, Illinois. His previous roles include serving as actuarial manager at Vesta Insurance Group and consulting actuary at Miller, Herbers, Lehmann & Associates, Inc.
Mosley earned his CAS Fellowship 22 years ago and is a longtime volunteer with the organization, having served on the CAS Board of Directors and on the CAS Executive Council as CAS vice president-marketing and communications. Mosley is also a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA) with The CAS Institute.
During his terms as CAS president-elect and president, Mosley plans to ensure the CAS provides effective communication, continues focus on its strategic plan and furthers Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives within the CAS community and beyond.
“The opportunity to serve as the president-elect is simply an opportunity for greater servant leadership for me in my actuarial career,” said Mosley. “My experience has prepared me to lead during this time of evolution and change. There are a number of opportunities facing the CAS, including further positioning ourselves as trailblazers in analytics and addressing DE&I issues for both CAS and the constituents we serve.”
The CAS also announced newly elected Board members: Justin Brenden, FCAS, SVP, underwriting at Third Point Reinsurance Ltd.; Kathy Olcese, FCAS, industry liaison at ISO/Verisk Analytics; Yvonne Palm, FCAS, director of risk management and compliance at the African Reinsurance Corporation; and Jason Russ, FCAS, principal at Milliman.
Kathy Antonello, FCAS, President and CEO at Employers, will serve as CAS president for the 2021-2022 term.
