Casualty Actuarial Society Names Kathy Antonello as President-Elect

Arlington, Va. – September 3, 2020 – The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) has announced the results of its elections, with Kathy Antonello, FCAS, being named president-elect for 2020-2021. Antonello will begin her term at the close of the 2020 CAS Annual Meeting and will go on to serve as CAS president for 2021-2022.

Antonello is currently executive vice president and chief actuary at Employer Holdings in Reno, Nevada. Previous roles include serving as the chief actuary at the National Council on Compensation Insurance and as vice president and chief actuary at Lumbermen’s Underwriting Alliance.

Antonello is a longtime CAS volunteer, having served terms on the CAS Risk Management Committee and Member Advisory Panel over the last seven years. Antonello has also served on the CAS Board of Directors since 2017 and is a past president of Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast, a CAS regional affiliate.

During her terms as CAS president-elect and president, Antonello plans to ensure the CAS provides pertinent basic and continuing education, quality research and a sense of community to CAS members and candidates.

I look forward to working alongside so many talented actuaries over the next three years.”

The CAS also announced newly elected Board members: Alejandra Nolibos, FCAS, MAAA, senior director at Willis Towers Watson; Erika Schurr, FCAS, chief actuary and head of business intelligence and analytics, Canada at the Travelers Companies; Geoff Werner, FCAS, managing member at Werner Advisory; Kris DeFrain, FCAS, CPCU, MAAA, director of research and actuarial department at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Jessica Leong, FCAS, Zurich, will serve as CAS president for the 2020-2021 term.
