The 2022 CAS China Insurance Summit will be held virtually.

About This Event

Note: Due to the current status of Covid restrictions in Beijing, this event has shifted to a fully virtual event. Those who already registered for in-person participation will be contacted directly.

The Casualty Actuarial Society is proud to present its first-ever China Insurance Summit, taking place on December 9, 2022. The event will be conducted in Mandarin and English. CAS Members, non-members, and candidates are invited to attend. This Summit will feature an action-packed schedule with a keynote from CAS’s president elect Frank Chang as well as several different speakers covering a broad range of topics, and a panel discussing the career path for a young actuary. C work creative space is located in Hengtong International Innovation Park (UCP). We welcome attendees from around the world to participate in this event virtually. Sessions will be streamed and recorded for virtual participants.

Event Information

Casualty Actuarial Society’s Envisioned Future (from the CAS Strategic Plan)

The CAS will be recognized globally as the premier organization in advancing the practice and application of casualty actuarial science and educating professionals in general insurance, including property-casualty and similar risk exposure.

Continuing Education Credits

The CAS Continuing Education Policy applies to all ACAS and FCAS members who provide actuarial services. Actuarial services are defined in the CAS Code of Professional Conduct as “professional services provided to a Principal by an individual acting in the capacity of an actuary. Such services include the rendering of advice, recommendations, findings or opinions based upon actuarial considerations.”

Members who are or could be subject to the continuing education requirements of a national actuarial organization can meet the requirements of the CAS Continuing Education Policy by satisfying the continuing education requirements established by a national actuarial organization recognized by the Policy.

**Note: The amount of CE credit that can be earned for participating in this activity must be assessed by the individual attendee. It also may be different for individuals who are subject to the requirements of organizations other than the American Academy of Actuaries.

Safety Protocols

The CAS is working to make the CAS China Summit a safe space for all attendees. Obviously, the pandemic has us living in a state of flux and constant change and we will continue to adapt as the date for the event approaches. Please note that the CAS will follow protocols and guidelines as set forth by Health Commission. The CAS also reserves the right to implement additional precautions, some of which will be:

  • Provide 48 hours negative test result at check-in
  • Follow the local COVID prevention and control policies
  • Administer temperature monitoring for all attendees

If any unusual thing related to COVID happens, we will contact the local health bureau immediately, and follow the local prevention protocol make sure everyone will be handled properly.

If a registrant is unable to attend because of Covid exposure, they will be provided a link to participate virtually.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS

Registrations fees will be refunded for cancellations received in writing at the CAS Office via email, refund@casact.org, by November 30 2022 less a $20 processing fee. No refunds will be extended to virtual participants, but they will have access to the recordings.
