Khury Named AR Editor Emeritus

In December 1998, the Actuarial Review Committee designated C.K. "Stan" Khury editor emeritus of the newsletter. Khury, who retired from his post as AR editor-in-chief in November, will join founding editor-in-chief, Matthew Rodermund, in this honorific post.

Stan, like Matt, has given many hours of his time to the AR over the years. Stan provided assistance to Matt in the early years of the AR, writing articles, recruiting contributors, and assisting with the editing process. He has provided direction to the AR as the editor-in-chief since 1989. As an editor emeritus, Khury's advice will be sought when the staff of the AR is considering significant changes to the format or content of the AR.

A CAS past president, Khury has long been active in the CAS. Khury completed his term on the Board of Directors in November 1998. Among his numerous committee involvements, Khury has served on the Nominating, Long Range Planning, and Examination Committees.

A Fellow since 1973, Khury is a partner in Bass & Khury, which he runs with his wife, Irene Bass, who is also a CAS past president.
