New ABCD Bylaw and Rules Adopted

From September1 through November 15, 1998, Academy membership voted on and passed an amendment to Article X of the Bylaws of the American Academy of Actuaries. Article X delineates responsibilities of the Actuarial Board for Counseling and Discipline (ABCD). In accordance with Academy Bylaws, the approved amendment took effect 10 days following the vote deadline, i.e., November 25, 1998. In December 1998, the ABCD adopted revised Rules of Procedure, effective January 1, 1999. Both Article X and the revised rules are available via the ABCD's Web page (with Acrobat Reader). A printed booklet of the rules is also available upon request.
