CAS Web Site: It's A Big Hit!

Traffic on the CAS Web Site has soared since its activation in October 1996. CAS Web Site pages were accessed over 35,000 times, generating over 170,000 "hits" during the month of December, more than three times as much traffic as in November.

Much of this traffic increase on the CAS Web Site can be attributed to CAS candidates accessing the passing candidate numbers from the 1996 Fall CAS Examinations, which were posted there for the first time.

Over 750 members have submitted forms for access to the "Members Only" section of the web site where they can search the online membership directory and participate in the threaded discussion forums.

Since its activation, much information has been added to the site. Recently, the Dynamic Financial Analysis Task Force on Variables posted a call for papers, and the Committee on Theory of Risk posted a request for proposals. The 1997 CAS Conrinuing Education Catalog is posted with the Calendar of Events, which provides the most up-to-date listing of ongoing activities within the CAS.
