Call For P&C Expertise
The Actuarial Foundation, in a joint project with Federal Alliance
for Safe Homes-FLASH, Inc., will be developing a peril-specific
insurance information guide that will reach millions of homes across
the country.
Natural disasters, including floods, hail, high winds, hurricanes,
tornadoes, and wildfires, cause billions of dollars in damage and
incalculable suffering and loss to individuals and families in hundreds
of communities across our country. Much of the injury, death, loss of
homes and property can be prevented if homeowners take action before
disaster strikes. To date FLASH has focused primarily on safety and
disaster-resistant construction products and techniques. Now, by
aligning its programs with insurance information from actuarial
volunteers through The Actuarial Foundation, they will better equip
consumers with all the tools they need to protect their families,
homes, and financial security.
The Actuarial Foundation's Consumer Education Property and Casualty
Committee is recruiting volunteers to help develop an unbiased
background paper that gives a good solid understanding of the insurance
issues as they relate to these perils.
