Boston to Host October Seminar on Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring
Learn the actuary's role in all facets of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring at the Special Interest Seminar on Mergers, Acquisitions, and Restructuring to be held October 9-10 at the Hilton Boston Back Bay. Speakers from the financial markets will discuss the research necessary for "the hunt," including the drivers for the deal and the analytics used to evaluate potential targets. Experienced actuaries will discuss their role in all aspects of the diligence process, from evaluating the premiums, underwriting, claims, and pro forma financial projections.
Actuaries also play an important role in designing the deal. Speakers will discuss how reinsurance programs, indemnity agreements, and contingency clauses are used to structure deals, as well as the actuarial analyses needed to evaluate these special terms of sale. Finally, the actuary must take an active role during the integration process for an acquisition to be successful. Attendees will learn of the many facets of the merger that involve actuarial expertise.
The seminar will feature professionals from the insurance and reinsurance industries, the financial markets, accounting firms, brokers, and regulators, all of which have recently been involved in an acquisition.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn how to make an acquisition successful!
