Call for Presentations 2018 Joint Property/Casualty and Health Actuarial Seminar Taipei, Taiwan

Proposals for Presentations are due no later than April 13, 2018
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and the Actuarial Institute of Chinese Taipei (AICT) invite you to be a part of the 2018 Joint Property/Casualty and Health Actuarial Seminar scheduled for September 26-27, 2018 in Taipei.
The Seminar Planning Committee strives to construct a rich program addressing issues, applications and insight across a broad spectrum of professional practices and fostering cross-pollination and collaboration of actuarial and other insurance professionals without regard to geographic location. Registration will be open to attendees across the region.
The following is a sample list of topics and/or potential presentations of greatest relevance to the Committee; it is not exhaustive. Other topics are also welcome:
- IFRS 17, with a focus on the implications for property/casualty insurers
- Stochastic loss reserving for property/casualty insurance
- Cat risk and modeling, with a particular focus on earthquake and typhoon risk
- Health Insurance – pricing methodologies applicable to long-term, guarantee rate, health insurance products
- Health Insurance – other topics
- Product development and pricing, with a specific interest in new areas such as cyber insurance
- Predictive analytics and data science – applications, innovations and implications in property/casualty and health insurance
The seminar audience is anticipated to include primarily actuaries from Taiwan and the greater Asia region, typically practitioners with 10 to 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.
The Committee is issuing this call to solicit ideas for professional content and to identify outstanding speakers for the 2018 event. The Committee wants your ideas and proposals for sessions that will deliver valuable content and will be engaging to attendees.
The Committee has the final authority to select session topics, presentations and speakers that best meet the educational and professional objectives of the seminar; and to work with a potential speaker to adjust the content of a session in order to meet those needs. In addition, we recommend that proposed panelists in a specific sessions be from a minimum of two different employers.
Mandarin is preferable for your presentation, but English also is acceptable. Please indicate the language(s) that you plan to utilize for your spoken remarks and for any slides.
Speakers should assume that you (or your employer) will be responsible for your own travel and lodging expenses. The seminar registration fee will be waived for speakers, and we invite you to participate in the entire seminar.
