Volunteer Judges Needed for Temple University Actuarial Students Case Competition
Please mark your calendars for Saturday, November 4 as the date of the Fall 2017 Actuarial Science Case Competition at Temple University. The case competition could not occur without the assistance of the actuarial science profession and we very much appreciate the support from those who have served as judges in past competitions.
The case competition is one of the milestone program events for the actuarial science students at Temple as it is a part of their writing intensive course that focuses on property and casualty insurance operations. In addition to developing and revising individual research papers, the students also work in two person teams on an assigned research project and the deliverables for the team include a research paper and a presentation. These team deliverables serve as the basis for the case competition.
Two volunteer opportunities available:
- Review and evaluate research papers beginning October 27th
- Evaluate 6 research papers during first round and 2 research papers the second round
- Can be completed remotely
- Judge in-person presentations on November 4th, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the main campus of Temple University in Philadelphia.
Please contact Randy Dumm if you are able to serve as a judge for the paper and/or presentation competitions. Thanks for considering this request and your support of the actuarial program at Temple University.
