Complimentary Professionalism E-Modules Now Available for Members

10/06/2015 —

Members of the Casualty Actuarial Society operate to high standards of knowledge, practice, and principles while abiding by a strong professional code of conduct. The CAS Course on Professionalism provides the foundation for those high standards, as completion of the course is required for earning CAS credentials and membership. In addition, CAS members are required to earn continuing education hours annually on the topic of professionalism.

With professionalism at the core of CAS members’ work, the CAS Committee on Professionalism Education is pleased to make the Course on Professionalism curriculum available to all CAS members through the University of CAS.

The CAS Course on Professionalism E-Modules cover items such as:

  • Code of Professional Conduct
  • Code of Professional Ethics for Candidates
  • Statements of Principles
  • Various Actuarial Standards of Practice

The e-modules consist of a series of slides with audio to guide members through the presentations. Each presentation contains questions throughout the slides that will need to be answered correctly in order to proceed and complete the presentation. The presentations, which take about 2.5 hours to complete, are designed to be self-paced and do not need to be completed in one sitting.

Members can access the complimentary Professionalism E-Modules through UCAS. Please use your CAS Web login to access the course in UCAS.

If you have questions about UCAS or the e-modules, please contact Nora Potter, Coordinator of Professional Education, at the CAS Office.
