In extending the invitation for dialogue to the SOA, CAS President Pat Teufel and President-Elect Gary Josephson emphasized the benefits of continued dialogue between the two organizations.
Ms. Manning spoke of the SOA’s vision to be recognized as a global leader in actuarial education. She explained that recent decisions announced by the SOA were in keeping with the SOA’s international strategy and in response to the significant opportunities that the SOA sees outside North America. Following the prepared remarks, members of the CAS Board had the opportunity to ask questions and offer comments.
The CAS Board appreciated the willingness of SOA leadership to engage in dialogue. Following the meeting, CAS President Pat Teufel commented: “The discussion with the SOA was constructive. Hearing the SOA’s priorities and rationale for its actions directly from SOA leadership will help the CAS Board as it deliberates and refines the strategic direction for the CAS.”
