Ronald Bornhuetter Loss Reserve Prize

The 2010 winner of the Ronald Bornhuetter Loss Reserve Prize was also announced at CLRS. The award is made to the authors of the best paper submitted in response to a call for papers regarding reserves, whenever the program is conducted by the CAS Committee on Reserves. Papers are judged by a specially appointed review committee on the basis of originality of ideas, clarity of presentation, contribution to the literature on loss reserving, and thoroughness of analysis. The 2010 winners are Tapio Boles and Andy Staudt of Towers Watson for their paper On the Accuracy of Loss Reserving Methodology. The paper is available in the 2010 Fall E-Forum and the audio recording of the presentation of the paper at CLRS is available at no cost on the CAS Web Site.

Finally, the winner of the 2010 CLRS Exhibitor Raffle is Thomas Hartl. Mr. Hartl visited each of the CLRS table-top exhibits, spoke with the exhibitors and had them initial his raffle form, and submitted the form by the conclusion of the Seminar. Mr. Hartl will receive a Kindle Wireless Reading Device as the winner of the raffle.
