Congratulations on achieving your designation! I know how difficult the road is to associateship and fellowship. Many of you sacrificed time with your family and friends for several years. Your sacrifice has paid off. The New Members Committee (NMC) is excited to share with you important information about becoming a new member, and let you know that we are a resource for any questions or comments you may have.

The NMC is proud to introduce the New Members portal within the CAS website. We invite you to explore this portal as it is a resource for you to learn more about the CAS and the resources provided to you. One of the pieces we are excited to bring to new members are the CAS-talks, located under the Videos link. These short videos are brief segments for you to better understand the CAS. We will add additional videos over the next several months on various topics, so be sure to check back! If there is a video you would like to us to produce, please let us know.

In addition to information about the CAS, we provide information on volunteer activities. I have been a CAS volunteer for several years. I started my volunteerism on this committee as an associate. I learned a lot about the CAS, and how I was able to make a contribution to the CAS. Since then, I have participated on other committees and have the pleasure to chair NMC. One of the reasons why I volunteer is to help move the profession forward in our ever changing world. The most important reason to me is to be your voice to the CAS. Input from the new members is critical to the success of the CAS. I look forward to many years of volunteering and contributing to the success of the actuarial profession. I hope that you will join me!

Please feel free to reach out to Matt Caruso or Shelby Wolff from the CAS or anyone on the NMC. On behalf of the CAS and myself, welcome! And congratulations!
