CAS members should have received an e-mail on July 8, 2003 inviting them to complete the CAS Membership Survey. The e-mail was sent from Association Research, Inc., which is the vendor the CAS hired to assist with the quinquennial survey.
The Membership Survey Task Force encourages all CAS members to complete the survey because it provides the CAS with a valuable opportunity to align its activities with the needs of its members. Because membership input is crucial in shaping the direction of the CAS, we are offering a $100 cash prize to a randomly selected respondent. Please note that the Membership Survey should not be confused with the Participation Survey that was conducted last month by the Committee on Volunteer Services.
Click the link in the e-mail you received from Association Research, Inc. to access the online survey. We can not provide a link to the survey here because each member received an e-mail with a unique online survey address. This helps ensure that members only submit one survey. Note however, that when the survey is submitted, the responses can not be tracked back to the respondent. This system allows Association Research, Inc. to determine who has and who hasn't responded to the survey, but will not allow the CAS to associate a given survey with an individual respondent.
Since the survey is shorter than past membership surveys and can be submitted electronically, it will be quicker and easier to complete than in the past. We expect that the survey, which must be completed in one session, will take you no more than 30 minutes to complete. The deadline for completing the survey is July 31, 2003.
Thanks in advance for completing the survey, and for doing your part to help shape the future of the CAS.
