Help the CAS Name Its Newest Seminar
Let Your Creative Juices Flow!
The CAS Executive Council has approved the development of a new seminar focused on product management, replacing both the Ratemaking and Predictive Modeling Seminars. The introduction of this new seminar is just one example of how the CAS adapts to changing times. When the Ratemaking Seminar was first created, the role of actuaries in the product management effort was exclusively a ratemaking role; today, the role of the actuary has expanded and includes a broad range of product management responsibilities. The new seminar is being designed to reflect the expanded role of the actuary in product management.
A Committee, chaired by Tom Hettinger, has been established to plan, develop, and execute the new seminar. They’d like your help – they are currently considering possible names for the new seminar and would welcome and appreciate suggestions from CAS members. Our objective: a name that is both informative and catchy, showing actuaries as the innovative and creative people that we know we are!
