Revised U.S. Qualification Standards Finalized

The American Academy of Actuaries’ revised Qualification Standards are now final with an effective date of January 1, 2008. The current Qualification Standards, adopted in 2001, will remain effective until the end of 2007.

The Academy will post a list of Frequently Asked Questions with responses about the revised qualification standards on the Academy website. It will also discuss the revised qualification standards in upcoming issues of its publications, the Actuarial Update and Contingencies, hold an educational webcast, and make presentations at its sister organizations’ meetings this fall.
