Final Registration Period Open for the 37th ASTIN Colloquium
The final registration period for the 37th ASTIN Colloquium is now open. Register online today at www.actuaries.org/ASTIN2007!
This event, which will commemorate ASTIN’s 50th Anniversary, will be held 19-22 June 2007 at the world renowned Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida in conjunction with the Casualty Actuarial Society’s Spring Meeting.
The Colloquium program is highlighted by four keynote speakers:
- Naomi Robbins, an expert on graphically displaying data, will speak on Wednesday morning (June 20), on the topic of “Visual Presentation of Quantitative Information.”
- Morton Lane, president of Lane Financial LLC and the 2001 Charles Hachemeister prize winner, will present the lecture “Does Securitization Threaten to Replace, or Improve, Traditional Markets?” on Wednesday afternoon (June 20).
- Stephen P. D’Arcy, professor of finance and the John C. Brogan Faculty Scholar in Risk Management and Insurance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will present a thought-provoking discussion on “ASTIN’s Next Greatest Contributions” on Friday, June 22.
- Hans Bühlmann, world renowned actuary and professor of mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, concludes the educational program on June 22 by providing his unique insights on “The History of ASTIN.”
The highlights of the social program include an afternoon and evening at the Kennedy Space Center on Thursday and the 50th Anniversary Gala, to be held Friday evening at EPCOT® Center.
