Deadline Extended for Call for Essays on Risk Metrics for Decision Making and ORSA

The Joint Risk Management Section (JRMS) of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), Society of Actuaries (SOA), and Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), in collaboration with the International Network of Actuaries in Risk Management (IN-ARM), recently issued a call for essays on to address “Risk Metrics for Decision Making and ORSA.” This is the third in a series related to Risk Management.

The original deadline of December 2, 2011 has been extended to January 31, 2012 to encourage additional submissions. In particular, please consider writing an essay addressing thoughts on risk identification and governance (e.g., board vs. management, regulator vs. company, explanation of output to the C suite).

Each essay should be no more than two pages (approximately 1,500 words or less), written in English or French. Prizes may be awarded for worthy papers of: 1st Place – $1,000; 2nd Place – $500; 3rd Place – $200.
