Christopher Carlson Begins Term as President of CAS; John Kollar is new President-Elect

Christopher S. Carlson

ARLINGTON, VA – Christopher S. Carlson, a Consultant for Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, began his term as President of the Casualty Actuarial Society at the organization’s annual meeting. He succeeds the previous President, Thomas G. Myers, Vice President of Product Management at High Point Safety & Insurance Management Corporation.

John J. Kollar, Vice President-Consulting & Research at ISO, has been selected President-Elect.

Carlson earned his

Fellowship in the CAS in 1990. He has served on the Executive Council as the Vice President of Professional Education, and, most recently, as a member of the Board of Directors. He has also served on a number of CAS committees, including the Ratemaking Research, Ratemaking Seminar, Long Range Planning, and Examinations committees. Carlson earned his B.S. in Mathematics from The University of Oregon. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Kollar earned his Fellowship in the CAS in 1975. Since then, he has served on the Board of Directors and on the Executive Council as Vice President of Admissions and, most recently, as the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management. He has also served on a number of CAS committees, including the Enterprise Risk Management, Dynamic Financial Analysis Advisory, and Syllabus committees. Kollar earned his B.A. in Mathematics from Fordham University. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

The Casualty Actuarial Society fulfills its mission to advance actuarial science through a focus on research and education. Among its 4,500 members are experts in property-casualty insurance, reinsurance, finance, risk management, and enterprise risk management.
