Jeff, I think the answer to 18 should be "E" because the first given
statement was an intentional reversal of the statement given on page 10-7
(right above Exhibit II). Unfortunately, I reversed my thinking process
between the early and later years of the contract and missed the question
since I also answered "D." The text says that the straight-line method
will
produce an apparent return greater than the market return during early
years
of the contract in a discount situation. The text then says that the
opposite is true in a premium situation.
